a few random happenings (plus a video!)

so here is my sister in law christiane and me. not sure why i posted the picture, but i did.

clay's school play "this land is our land". SO cute! i cried... so did gerry... and his dad... and his mom...

he was a wolf, and a train conductor. we had a video camera, but it died just as they started. :(

he was so excited about this play that he was counting down all week...

icky boys

so perhaps i'm too "girly"... but boys are gross. plain and simple. how is it that they can spend hours and hours searching for, and playing with, such gross things like frogs, toads, worms, snakes and salamanders? eew!

they're so lucky that they are so damn cute though...

chip was SO PROUD that he was holding the frog...

side note: there are only 4 more days of classes until exams. i can NOT wait for this year to be over! I NEED SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dirty hands...

so this weekend was an outdoor weekend at home... yard work, yard work, and more yard work! i helped weed and edge. then we took a little trip to canfield's landscaping and garden center for some flowers and mulch.
i planted some allysum (i LOVE the way it smells) in a few spots and hope they spread.
our tree (which has been a mystery for years now as to what kind it is) is a cherry tree of some sort! this year we finally have little berries starting to grow!

more friggin impatiens... every year i want to get something new. and every year we end up with more impatiens... too much shade in our yard :(

and i planted a couple of hostas to go under my hydrangea tree... clay got rocks out of our back yard and made a circle and mulched. he was SO proud!

and then chippy and i took his idea and spruced up our mailbox with some rocks and mulch.

at this point, my hands are almost clean... this girl isn't exactly used to getting her hands dirty! :)

happy memorial day!

so we went camping this weekend at highbanks... we had so much fun! the kids ride their bikes ALL day! we go to the playground, go for walks, ride bikes, go on the boat, and fish. ok, so that's what the kids do... we hang out and drink beer and eat by the fire!
clay thinks he's 35... and thinks he can drive the boat better than ANYONE!

and here is the new shower... we have been going to highbanks for years now, and they finally got new bathrooms. we were a bit excited! the showers are super nice now!

x games?

so this is what we did friday after school... hung out in the yard while my children ran around like motorhead animals. clay had his backpack on with a bottle of water in it "just in case i get thirsty when i'm riding". i tried to explain to him that he would be in the yard, and if he was thirsty, he could just go inside and get a drink... apparently that wasn't cool enough.

so this is carter at clay's swimming lesson on monday... gerry was mowing, so i had to take him with me. this should not have been a problem... it's only 45 minutes! yeah, well he flipped out when he realized that he was not allowed in the pool... and the biggest temper tantrum EVER ensued. seriously... he is out of control.

here is clay last weekend at a friend's pond... he thought he was babe winkleman! he came home telling me all about all the fish he caught...

a busy, busy night!

so i have been quite busy... i got 3 aprons made this evening! why am i in such a tizzy to get these made you may ask??? well let me tell you...
my brother in law and sister in law (gerry's sister and her husband) currently own a landscaping business called canfield's landscaping. they have recently purchased and fixed up a former nursery/garden center in hamburg... it used to be called the water valley nursery, but it is now called Canfield's Landscaping and Garden Center! this is SO exciting!!! what is my point and how does this relate to me making aprons you may ask? well at Canfield's Landscaping and Garden Center, i will be selling my stuff! they will be carrying my key fobs, wallets, checkbook covers, traveling art kits, bags etc. as well as my new creation... the gardening aprons! my sister will be selling her handmade jewelry there as well.
i just think that these aprons are the cutest! they make me want to start gardening!!!

ok, so i probably won't start gardening (eew! dirt, worms, bugs, snakes etc.), but maybe i will start wearing one to cook! or perhaps i will just wear one just cuz it's cute...
